Multitasking for me is going out and grabbing some outfit photos, doing a hike and seeing some birds all in one go. That makes for a very productive weekend. As someone who has been dressing like an elderly person for many years now, it’s only fitting that I recently picked up another old person hobby. Twitching. Which is apparently what everyone calls bird watching now. I’ve done my best to limit this post to just a few bird photos because otherwise I could post an endless amount of the birds I saw and photographed.
This outfit is inspired by the European (French & Dutch) vintage accounts I follow, who always post very wearable and authentic 1940s looks. When I say wearable I mean the kind of pieces I already have in my wardrobe or can easily access. The blazer and dress are both by the same Australian brand, Retrospec’d, who make wonderful vintage reproduction pieces.
In an attempt to level up my outfits a bit I’ve started to make more of my own hair flowers and corsages from vintage millinery supplies. When I’m lucky I can get a box of vintage millinery flowers for half the cost of one set of hair flowers or corsage on Etsy, so the willingness to burn myself with a glue gun has been paying off. The velvet pansy corsage I’m wearing in these photos is one of my favourites that I’ve made lately.
I agree, this is a lovely vintage, but wearable look!
