Diago wears a custom made coat by Texicoats

June 15th will be the second anniversary since we adopted Diago. Well yes, of course I keep the date marked on the calendar! For us it is a very special occasion to commemorate because the day we brought Diago home changed our life forever. I don’t know how we lived all those years without our darling cuddly, very loving spotty boy. He is the love of our life and every day we are extremely grateful that we got to be his forever humans.

When I first sat down to write this I wrote about Diago’s true origins, which were really grim. And then I thought no, people don’t to read the story of a dog that has the backstory comparable to the main character in a Dickens novel. Fluffy nonsense is what writing fashion blogs is about, since it’s meant to be a bit of an escape. So I’ll say no more but if it seems that this dog obscenely spoiled, you’ll have to take my word for it when I say he truly deserves it after everything he has been through.

Despite how this may look, I’m actually not one of those owners that’s obsessed with dressing their dog up in outfits. No, really! I mean it would be a shame to cover all those beautiful spots that Diago is so proud of. But in winter it can get pretty cold where we live, and Diago is a massive wuss. He’s very sensitive to the cold and is happiest cocooned in a blanket with the heater running. I saw a lot of other spotties in our local Dalmatian community sporting these smart winter coats and decided that Diago would probably love one.

I now regret not having multiple made since he wears this one so much, so I will have to remember to order a few more. Diago especially loves wearing his outfit to get coffee (puppacino for him) and lives for the complements. Most days he has people cat calling him from their cars so he is pretty convinced that his name is beautiful dalmatian. Oh and sometimes we get “where’s the fire” and of course “where’s the other hundred?” But that’s just something you get used to when you have a spotty dog. As a shy person it took me a long time to get used to the reactions Diago gets.

For those wondering whether I had to perform some sort of black magic to get Diago to pose for photos; not really. This dog is always ready for his close up. But it also helps that he gets tasty treats when we take photos! One of the reasons I love this dress so much is that it has big pockets for treats and everything else a dog owner should carry. Anyway I’ll just leave this gratuitous dog spam here, and I’ll be back soon with more posts featuring plaid outfits!
