1940s two piece in dogwood

February 13, 2017 · 8 Comments

Right before my birthday, Trashy Diva released a new print – the dogwood collection. I gasped as soon as I saw the fabric and had a hard time deciding on what piece to get. I ended up going for this 1940s two piece set as you know I pretty much live in resort wear and the heart wants what it wants. It’s hard to be comfortable and look your best on a forty degree day, but a lovely print and breezy rayon fabric certainly helps to make it a little more bearable.

This is also the first pair of shorts I have worn on the blog in years now. Usually I steer clear of shorts in favour of loose trousers that don’t cling but this pair is an exception as they are cut to be very breezy and cling free. So breezy in fact that the first time I wore them I was paranoid that I would moon someone – which of course didn’t happen as the clever cut of the fabric ensures that they are both modest and comfortable. Not to mention flattering, so this is definitely a style I will be looking out for in the future!

Wearing:

Trashy Diva – top & shorts

Miss L Fire – heels

You look a vision of minty, floral loveliness. You look cool and vivacious and not at all like it is 40 degrees. Jealous of your effortless panache.

“Live in resort wear” – how wonderful to live in a climate that enables you to do that! Stunning two piece, the nicest I’ve seen. I don’t like clingy shorts either. These are far more flattering. Such a good colour on you too xx

Lol at the thought of you mooning someone! Their pleasure I’m sure ;D This set is perfect on you – and I’m glad you braved the shorts, they look fab. Such a pretty colour on this fabric, that’s probably my favourite bit about it.

So cute! Your posts are making me so ready for summer, I’m really jealous of your gorgeous weather. This outfit reminds me of something out of the film Pearl Harbour, I love it so much, I’m definitely going to have to put it on the wish list!
