Is it a dress? Is it a playsuit? Actually, it’s a blouse and a top. From The House of Foxy’s Lido collection, that I’ve been coveting ever since it was released. I will never stop loving and wanting to wear sailor inspired looks, they are just too good. When I was in Japan I had some serious envy seeing the fashionable sailor inspired high school uniforms, so much nicer than the uniforms I had when I was at school. This outfit makes me think of something Margo Durrell might wear, and both of our outfits actually ended up being very Durrell’s coded.
I’ve got Hugh doing a cameo in this blogpost because I have really liked some of the vintage inspired outfits he’s worn lately. Hugh’s wearing a shirt by Revival Vintage, a brand who make authentic 1940s reproductions that I’ve previously posted on the blog. I’m pleased to say that their menswear range is fantastic. We both now own a good amount of their designs.
When we got to March I thought well, what a great summer we’ve had this year. No months of torrential rain and horrid humidity. But turns out that instead the rain that been holding off and building up to a cyclone. So for a while there it was batten down the hatches and hope the roof doesn’t fly off. When the storm finally passed I has a serious case of cabin fever, so a trip to the seaside was the perfect remedy. It was pouring when we arrived at the beach, but very quickly the clouds cleared up and it turned out to be a beautiful day in the end. The combination of good weather and an outfit that I love and feel fabulous in was exactly the dopamine hit I had been craving.
