September Sakura

September 28, 2018 · 5 Comments

For some reason every year when cherry blossom season arrives, I never seem to have a pink dress on hand. Not that a pink dress is required to enjoy the cherry blossoms, I just like things to match the way any other blogger would. Never mind though, because I had this lovely JacksDaughter dress to wear – one that I’d been saving for the holiday season but then decided I actually couldn’t wait that long. If the dress looks familiar to you, it’s because you’ve seen one similar to it before on the blog when it was autumn. I happen to like this cut so much that I’m having it made in white! I’m sure literally no one is surprised by that…And as you can see the big straw hats are back too.

When it comes to taking photos with the cherry blossoms, everything has to be perfectly timed because they only really bloom like this for a week. Get there a week too early and the trees are bare, but leave it a week too late and the petals are withered. I was relieved that this year I got in at just the right moment because the previous year I left it too late and was very disappointed with the blooms that remained. So that’s another thing ticked off the yearly blog photo bucket list! I don’t really think there’s much I can say about the cherry blossoms because the photos speak for themselves. Whereas Anne of Green Gables talks about how October is her favourite month of the year, I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Septembers.

Lovely! I think the green floral dress works just as well as a pink one would have. I really like the big straw hat – such a pretty frame for your face. Great job capturing the peak of sakura season!

I love cherry blossom season! I do wish the pretty blooms lasted much longer though. I think your lovely green dress matches wonderfully ๐Ÿ™‚

I am so behind on commenting, but I really love this whole look! The dress is so perfect, I adore that asymmetrical bow at the collar, and with your wicker bag and giant hat you are picture perfect!
