I’m sure you are all familiar with this outfit since I wore it to a vintage picnic last year, but I couldn’t resist giving it an encore and its own post. Heyday recently added beach pajama trousers to their range, and as a beach pajama connoisseur I was really excited to own a pair. As you can see in these photos they drape beautifully and I love the way the fabric billows in the wind. They look very dramatic when you’re strutting down the promenade! I would love it if these were to come out in more colours and different patterns but for now they also come in navy which I also have my eye on…
It’s funny because much as I love to take photos by the sea, of all places to take blog photos it’s one I find the trickiest. Lighting by the seaside tends to be so temperamental! I have found that the perfect day for blog photos by the beach is one where there is just the right amount of cloud – too much cloud and the photos look dreary but not enough and I look like voldemort…
Taking this particular set of photos was a race against the clouds and sun, we knew that once the sun was completely out it would be time to pack up. But perhaps it’s just me that’s so pedantic, I have really sensitive eyes and struggle to keep my eyes open in photos on sunny days! What about you, do you like taking photos by the sea? Are there any hacks that you have to get your photos just right?
Wearing:
Heyday – trousers
House of Foxy – blouse

Such a gorgeous outfit! You really make me miss summer…
I know how hard it is to take photos at the sea. We normally try to shoot an outfit either early in the morning or in the evening sun.
Many hugs
Sandra <3

Well – these photos are not dreary and you definitely do not look like Voldemort!
You look carefree and beautiful as if the only thing you have to think about is having fun in the sun in the most stylish way possible.
Love the outfit and how you look.
Also kudos to your photographer – the photos are, as usual, fabulous.

Ugh, taking photos by the sea is the WORST. Something I’ve only managed to get ok photos out of once and the effort nearly killed me. Well, maybe not nearly killed me, but it did make me very cold and angry and destroyed my hair! Anyway, you wouldn’t know about the race against time from these lovely photos, so you did well. Great outfit and especially great hat!

I totally hear you on the tricky bits of photography by the beach – or anywhere open outdoors, really! My BF thinks I am crazy when I complain about a day without a single cloud in the sky. He just doesn’t get it! 😉
Technical difficulties aside, you are a vision in red! What a fun outfit! The pants look so breezy and light for warmer months!

You are such a supermodel! Honestly, I’m looking at these shots wondering how you are making all of this work so beautifully for you – bold prints, bright colors, strong shapes. But you absolutely do, and you look gorgeous doing it! I love the 30s look to this, and you’re definitely making me want to put together a beach pajama inspired ensemble before summer roles around up here in the northern hemisphere.

Gorgeous photos, and those beach pyjamas have such drama! You look wonderful.
I find by the sea my main enemy is the wind!! Xx

I too have the hardest time with my eyes and the sun when taking photos, I want contact lenses that are sunglasses! I wonder if such a thing exists, I seriously want a pair. These photos are gorgeous so the results were well worth the rush. This ensemble is so perfectly styled and the trousers are super elegant and create such a nice flowing line visually. An outfit well worth repeating often <3
