Glen or Glenda

Completely simple and low key as this outfit may be, I always feel particularly fabulous when I wear it. This may be to do with the freedom of movement that wearing swishy pants like these allows, or it could be the cheeky, cropped midriff top. The fact that both pieces are extremely comfortable to wear is of course, an added bonus.
Fellow bloggers are often to blame for my shopping addiction, or rather should I call it inspiration, and this particular outfit was inspired by Ellen who made me realize that an elegant off-shoulder black top is an essential wardrobe staple. I stopped buying fashion magazines around the same time I started reading blogs and I feel that this is no coincidence. I love blogs and my favorite ones are those that show realistic every day looks, that show what clothing looks like on various body types.
As you can see, I’ve really been enjoying wearing trousers lately, but that is not to say that I have gotten over my love of dresses! I love the way that high waisted 1940s style trousers have a powerful, masculine cut but at the same time compliment the female figure; thus creating a strong look that is also feminine.

I have a black bardot dress that I often wear tucked into skirts as a top, but I think you're right that I need to invest in an actual top – such a wardrobe staple! Instantly sexy and also dressy if you want it to be. I'm not surprised you feel fab in this – you look great! x

I really mean it when I say that I don't think anyone else could make a nearly all black ensemble look as chic as you, dear gal. This is so sophisticated, elegant and gorgeous. The pops of red on your toes ups those adjectives' weight all the more!

I am also surprised at how often I wear trousers now after taking the decision to buy some having been a skirts/dresses only person. I find them so versatile and comfy

Elegant is the word that best describes this outfit, I think! Also, congrats on your wedding. 🙂 I'm sure your vintage wedding dress is a dream!

i LOVE this outfit on you! when i saw it on instagram the first the thing i thought of was sandy at the end of grease! except of course her pants are a tiny bit tighter than these, haha. also there's nothing better than an outfit that looks amazing that's also really comfortable – you can't beat it.

Such an elegant yet comfortable looking style! Looks great on you! I was never really big on buying fashion magazine but I love fashion blogs! I think what I love about blogs is finally being able to find fashions that better suit one's personal taste and style. I never really felt that fashion magazines really spoke to me… it's a whole new world with blogs though! <3
