Parrots!

January 17, 2015 · 17 Comments

Dress – Trashy Diva
Shoes – Novo

Every now and then I pop into the local garden center to pick up some plants to replace the ones I’ve killed. I love plants but I am terrible at remembering to water them so normally I will buy three things and if I’m really good two of them end up surviving. At the moment I am looking at buying some nice luscious green plants to put on our veranda and turn the area into a nice spot for drinking cider and cocktails, however I might have to get some plastic plants as well as real ones to complete the look. Knowing my complete inability to keep up with watering, the plastic plants stand a better chance!

I’ve had this Trashy Diva dress for nearly four years now, I think, and it was the first one of their dresses I ever bought. I wear it a lot and it’s still going strong with no signs of wear – a testament to how well made Trashy Diva dresses are! The reason I will always buy repro is because I know I am getting a quality investment piece that will last me for years and will remain timeless while fashion continues to change.

I am the same when it comes it comes to gardening. I certainly don't have a green thumb! The idea of a nice leafy and green place to relax and drink cocktails does sound very nice though! And gorgeous dress, it is always fab to have those timeless wardrobe pieces.

I agree with you about buying repro, I know the styles never date! I have quite a few dresses that I bought a few years ago when the 50s 'style' dresses came back big in mainstream fashion. I still have them today! I found that target used to have quite a few really nice dresses, although the fashion has changed now.

Gardening can be so hard! Maybe ask the assistants what is really hardy, there are a few really pretty resilient plants out there.

Ah, this makes me again feel huge pangs of regret that I didn't manage to get my hands on a Hell Bunny dress with parrot print I was after before it went out of stock in the UK. Le sigh. I want a parrot dress too! Those shoes are gorgeous too… and I love the idea of taking photos in a plant nursery! x

The pockets on this dress always melt my fashion loving heart. The detailing is just so delightful and of the sort that one really would have encountered on a mid-century frock.

Charmingly pretty photos and outfit, dear gal. I hope that January is treating you splendidly and that you're having a great weekend!
