On the Farm

August 24, 2013 · 24 Comments

Dress – Bernie Dexter, get it here!
Cardigan – Modcloth
Shoes – I Love Billy

A few weeks ago we made the decision to start buying our fresh fruit and vegetables at the Farmers’ Market. It’s something we had been talking about doing for some time, so when the prices at our local green grocer went up and their quality went down, we decided to give it a go! So now every Saturday we head out to the market as the sun is rising and come home with a car full of delicious fresh fruit and vegetables.

This sweet little farm is right next to the market, so this morning I hopped the fence to get a few blog photos! Some of you might remember this dress from last year; I wore it in the middle of summer, and here it is again in winter, this time with a cardigan and (nude) tights. I really love this little red cardigan. Despite how bright it is, it goes with most of my clothes and is nice and warm. I might even get it in other colors for next winter too!

So gorgeous Harlow, looking beautiful as always!! I love that dress, and the cardigan is perfect – they go really well together too! I have added a lot of new cardigan into my wardrobe lately… And there is nothing better than fresh fruit and vegetables! x

This is such a sweet look for winter – I'll have to think about putting some outfits like this together soon as we've just started getting some more Autumnal weather.

What a great idea to get your fresh produce from the farmers market as well. We sometimes buy things from a local farm and it's always better than fruit and veg from the supermarket.

Beautiful as usual. I love the bright colours, sometimes winter dulls down the colour a little – but something bright and cheery lifts up the mood! In Cairns at a local school a group of farmers would come and sell their produce each week – it was kind of like a co-op. You paid $40 for a crate of seasonal fruit and veges – it was AMAZING! You never knew what you were going to get but that made cooking a little more fun – and knowing all the food was totally organic and went straight to the farmer made it that much better. I kind of wish I lived on a farm!

How wonderful that you have farm fresh produce to buy right in your area. Isn't it amazing how much of a difference there often is? When I eat locally grown produce, it tastes like how I remember fruit and veg being when I was a little girl (instead of how most is at the supermarket these days).

Beautiful outfit for that sun-kissed farm setting. Love your cropped cardigan! I wish cardis that length were easier to come by (I'd buy them in spades if they were!).

Wishing you a gorgeous weekend, honey!

I love the cardi as well, it looks fantastic and brings out the red flowers in the dress, and the way you are doing your hair is just perfect.

It's so funny to read about winter there, because here winter means LOADS of snow and -30 degrees! I love this color scheme, definitely consider buying more of those cardigans! πŸ™‚ They add so much to outfits!

Love the cardigan. I've had it on my Modcloth wishlist for a while. Do you find that it runs true to size, or is it tight in the arms or anything? i want to get it in several colors too.

Gorgeous as always. I keep uming over the fruit and veg at our local store. Not good. Must follow your example and go to a farmers markets. Just need to find a good one. As in close by, good produce and not too expensive

You are so cute, and the lighting in these photos is just beautiful. I'm a huge fan of the farmers market- my mom and I have had a tradition of going every Saturday since I was a little girl!

such a beautiful statement dress! and i love the cardigan too, it's so simple but it's actually really hard to find plain cropped cardigans that are affordable, you wouldn't imagine it would be so hard but i'm sure you know that it is! i'll have to see if i can find the modcloth one you've got because it looks just right.

What a pretty little dress! My father has a farm so your surroundings look pretty familiar to me, haha! Too bad they only grow animals, no free fresh fruit and veggies for me πŸ™
The cardigan is super pretty too and it looks awesome on you! I couldn't pull it off though, it would be too much red, with my hair :3

    Lots of love,
